The pictures don't do this wonderful dress justice.  It is velvet, slightly pleated in the front, with a tiny emblem of a bear. 

The dress goes on much like an apron, I think this is called a pinafore, and must be secured in the back with a pin.  The original petticoat was still underneath and is included.
